Catcher in the rye essay?

That's a pretty weak topic for an entire essay. If you have the choice, why not write about the hat that he wears. It seems like every time he does some heavy thinking or is being rational, he puts on that hat. Also, don't forget about the ducks. There's a lot of symbolism in this book, and I think you're wasting your time on a very surfaced detail. Just my thoughts. (You can get more pages out of the previous topics. I've seen students only come up with one and a half pages on your topic.) Best of luck.
