HELP! What medical procedures do you take with someone who has Candida Albicans?

About 8 months ago my bf was diagnosed with a yeast infection and was given an antibiotic to cure it but that made it worse. He's lost a lot of weight because of his diet and on the side he's been taking probiotics and all kinds of different things to cure his condition. Is this something that will NEVER GO AWAY? Can this be sexually transmitted too?? I read that it can be an std but Im not too sure? Im scared that I might be at risk but I need to help him.. What kinda doctor does he need to see? I need all the information I can get?! Please help!
